Öppen helg
Familjen Alv ska till Valencia över helgen, med avgång i morgon, fredag. Manu skulle från början haft kompisar hos sig över samma helg, men nu ska de inte komma. Därför är den här helgen perfekt ifall jag vill åka till hans stad och spendera lite tid där, för omväxlingens skull. Men samtidigt, borde jag kanske åka till Valencia? Tiden rinner kanske ut för det, men samtidigt, Manu åker iväg om mindre än en månad, så känns som jag gärna vill umgås lite med honom innan dess också.
Jag frågade Manu innan idag om han kunde tänka sig underhålla mig under helgen, och det kunde han. Hade han sagt att han inte kunde, ja, då hade valet varit enkelt. Jag hade åkt till Valencia. Men som det ser ut nu stannar jag nog hemma även den här gången.
Vi har varit hemma hos Mamma Pat ikväll efter skolan. Hon har fortfarande inte hittat någon lämplig au pair, så är det någon där ute som vill komma hit så snart som möjligt, kontakta mig snarast! Det är kul att vara hemma hos dem, barnen leker och jag prata med Pat och hennes systerdotter eller vad det är, alltid på spanska, eftersom de inte kan engelska. Men det är bara bra, då lär jag mig ju mycket mer.
Och för en gångs skulle följde barnen med mig hem hyfsat frivilligt. Inga stora bråk eller så i alla fall. Kändes bra, och nu när vi nyss kom hem lämnade jag över dem till Pappa Alv som varit hemma hela dagen. Tycker gott han kan spela lite fotboll med dem nu, så får jag andas ut lite grann innan jag måste fixa mat till dem. Om inte Mamma Alv hinner komma hem innan dess vill säga.
Idag pratade jag med Pappa Norrman på pausen i skolan, både på svenska, engelska och spanska. Men så vände jag mig till Jen, och tror ni inte att jag pratade svenska med henne. Oj, jag fick ett litet skrattanfall, men det är så lätt hänt att man pratar fel språk när man blandar för allt man har. Hon förstod i alla fall inte vad jag sa, och jag upptäckte själv att jag pratade fel, men inte förrän jag sagt hela min mening jag skulle säga.
Det här får räcka för nuet. Ska se om jag orkar göra en läxgrej nu istället. Till idag gjorde jag ett reportage om hur livet är som Erasmus-student, men Manu som huvudperson. För dem som kan spanska klistrar jag in det här, för er andra, tja, ni kan ju alltid försöka översätta med hjälp av något dåligt Internet-översättningsprogram.
La vida que junta los estudios y las fiestas
Erasmus, ¿qué es? Posiblemente hayas oído la palabra, pero quizá no sepas que significa en la realidad. Manu es un chico de España, que ha pasado un año escolar en Irlanda, "La Isla Esmeralda".
Cuanto tenía 20 años, Manu dejo su país nativo con la intención de estudiar su carrera "Fiología Inglesa" en Irlanda. Siempre le había gustado la isla "detrás de" Gran Bretaña, como había oído hablar de sus pajisajes mágicos, la buena gente y claro la buena cerveza. Desde cuando era más joven intentó ir allí durante los veranos por cursos de Castilla-La Mancha, pero siempre tenía que ir a Inglaterra en lugar de Irlanda.
Por eso, cuando tuvo la oportunidad de ir a su querida isla durante su segundo año de la universidad, él la cogió. Además de ver al fin la isla, era el tiempo perfecto puesto que quería practicar su inglés, sin embargo a lo mejor era una posibilidad para vivir nuevas experiencias y conocer nuevos lugares y gentes.
Manu vivía en un piso con otros estudiantes, la mayoría de Irlanda, y además una chica francesa. Hizo amigos de todo el mundo, Finlandia, Alemania, Francia, Rumanía, Japón etc, y él dice que la amistad entre los amigos es algo especial. No sólo son tus amigos, sino tu familia. Todos ayudan a todos; tú cuidas a ellos, y ellos hacen lo mismo contigo.
Algo muy especial de la vida Erasmus, es lo de que los estudiantes aprovechan todo el día hasta límites insospechados. Un día puede ser que te despiertes por la mañana, vayas a clase y vuelvas a casa. Después comas y te relajas, para estudiar un rato, ir al gimnasio or salir con tus amigos. Por la noche sales de fiesta, aunque tienes clase el día siguiente. Manu explica que la vida Erasmus es vivir al 100 %.
En la pregunta si hay desventajas de ir de Erasmus, Manu dice que no puede pensar en otra a parte de tener que volver a su país una vez pasado el año. Cuando se vuelve a su propia casa otra vez, todo se ha cambiado, o más correcto, lo que ha cambiado eres tú mismo. Tu familia y la vida en tu casa y país ha seguido igual que antes, y para Manu, era muy difícil adeptarse a eso. Es un sentimiento de pérdida y soledad.
Por otro lado, las ventajas son más. Aparte de conocer otra gente y lugares, maduras como persona y coges confianza en tí mismo, asimismo empiezas a ver el mundo de otra menera.
Una cosa que puede parecer extraña, es que Manu no echó de menos España. Dice que sus compañeros sintieron morriña en algún momento, pero Manuel ni siquiera echó de menos la comida española.
Aunque la vida de Erasmus trata mucho de la gente y la vida en otro país, también trata de los estudios. Lo mejor de estudiar "Fiología Inglesa" en otro país como Irlanda, es que claramente los profesores saben más sobre su propia cultura e historia, y por supuesto, el acento nativo.
El febrero este año, Manu va a ir a Australia, pero puesto que la oportunidad de ser estudiante Erasmus sólo existe una vez, va a ir de "International/Free Mover Student", que es algo similar a Erasmus, sin el dinero que te dan. ¿Y porqué quiere ir otra vez? A pesar de que Manu duda que la experiencia de Australia se pueda comparar a la de Irlanda, el tiempo en Irlanda fue tan bueno, que no pudo negarse a ir a Australia.
La cosa que ya no le gustó tanto en Irlanda fue cuando un criajo de 12 años le robara su bici una vez. Pero, esto pueda ocurrir en todo el mundo, y por eso, Manu anima a todos los estudiantes que están pensando ir a estudiar de Erasmus a ir. Un pequeño consejo que les da, es que está bien ahorrar un poco de dinero antes de ir, porque el dinero que te dan no es mucho. Pero tienes la posibilidad de ganar un dinerillo si quieres dar clases de tu idioma nativo.
Para finalizar, dice que toda la experiencia mereció toda la pena.

At night celebration salts, although you have class the following day. Manu explains that the Erasmus life is to live to 100 %.
